CAPITAL REGION

The Capital Region Area Consultative Committee covers the area including the Australian Capital Territory and the five local government areas (LGAs) of Goulburn Mulwaree, Queanbeyan City, Palerang, Upper Lachlan, and Yass Valley. Each LGA and city within the Capital Region is quite unique, with mixed demographics and business and employment profiles.

The Regional Overview for the Capital Region ACC – August 2008 provides a topical overview of the region and some key issues and developments.

In addition to the individual economic and community profiles for the ACT and LGAs of Goulburn Mulwaree, Palerang, Queanbeyan, Upper Lachlan and Yass Valley, CRACC has summarised the employment flows throughout the region into a handy table: Porous Borders of the (ACC) Capital Region.

The table provides an insight into the employment flows within (and to the outside of) our region, based on the 2006 Census statistics, and illustrates that the area where people live, and where they work, are often not the same.
