Regional Engagement Reports - (Regional Development Australia) 2008
In March 2008, the Australian Government announced that its national network of Area Consultative Committees (ACCs) were to transition to become Regional Development Australia (RDA).

In May 2008, the Government requested ACCs to undertake a number of tasks to provide advice on:
- the establishement of RDA;
- the principles and priorities for a new regional and local community infrastructure program; and
- the priorities for types of local community infrastructure in the region.

As part of the process leading up to preparation and finalisation of the reports, the Capital Region Area Consultative Committee held  six Consultation Workshops and numerous face-to-face meetings with regional communites, businesses and governments on the way forward for RDA and the proposed new regional and local community infrastructure program. In addition to other research conducted in-house, the Capital Region Area Consultative Committee commissioned research that highlighted and analysed key indicative data for the Capital Region.

Once the Reports were finalised and cleared by the members of the Capital Region Area Consultative Committee, they were submitted to the Australian Government.

Some time after the Reports were submitted to the Australian Government, the Hon Gary Gray AO MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development and Northern Australia, indicated they could be made available to the public via ACC web-sites. The Capital Region Area Consultative Committee has provided the key stakeholders involved in the earlier community consultation process with summary information from the reports.
